Window on the world

I have decided the time has come to have a thorough sort out and "spruce up" of my craft room Besides all the clutter, one of the things which was annoying me most of all was an ill fitting blind at my craft room window. It was fitted many years ago, but was never quite right, and had a gap at either side. Consequently when the sun shone, it peeked through the gaps at the sides and as a result some of my stash has faded.  Here are some pics to show what I mean :-

During a visit to The Range a couple of weeks ago, I spotted a curtain pole reduced from £19.99 to £12.99. They also had some lovely faux silk curtains reduced from £19.99 to £6.00 !! Yes £6.00 !!! They were in the exact colour I wanted, so I happily trotted off to the till with said goodies in my trolley.

I decided I wanted to try to fit it myself, so with the help of my Dad (a retired joiner),  I gathered together my new curtain pole, drill, wall plugs, spirit level, first aid kit (only joking !!).

Anyway, I am delighted to say, adding the curtain pole was easier than I expected. It's the closest I'll ever get to pole dancing !  I was going to remove the blind, but decided I would leave it for the time being, as it might come in handy if we get a Summer this year !

So here are some pics of the finished result !  The curtains still have a few crease marks, as they are straight out of the packet.  If they don't drop out I'll whizz over them with the iron.

All I need now is to get the rest of my room in order.
