Latest Project - Friend Card

Whilst I have been reorganising my stamps and craft room, I have had little time to actually make any cards.  However, with my best friend's birthday on 30th April, I needed to get my skates on and make her a card.

I decided to use some of my dies, as well as a stamp from Dimension Fourth which I found in my stash whilst sorting out my hoarde of stamps.  The sentiment was just perfect for her.

I mounted it onto a Sue Wilson die cut (Rose Oval from the Frames and Tags collection), which I cut from pink cardstock.  I then used some Sue Wilson flower dies (Finishing Touches collection - Perfect Peony) to make the flowers in the corner.  I cut some in white and some in pink, and shaped them using a large ball embossing tool on my foam mat.  I sponged some Versacolour Ink in Orchid (No 34) onto the petals, and did some final shaping using my fine point tweezers.

The flourish is the Fancy Flourish die from Die-namics, and this was cut in silver Mirri card.

The smaller ferns were made using an unbranded die from China.

The final touch was to add some aurora borealis gems to the centre of each flower.

Here is the finished card, and I am pleased to say my friend was delighted with it.  The flourish in the top right hand corner was the same die, but I just trimmed it down.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is a Little Claire peel off sticker which was mounted onto a banner die cut, again unbranded from China.
